H&R Block Income Tax Course (ITC) Refund Policies

We understand that unexpected events may require you to cancel your enrollment. The H&R Block Income Tax Course refund policies are provided in the text below.

You may cancel your enrollment online or by calling 1-800-HR-BLOCK (1-800-472-5625) for assistance. If you choose to reschedule to another Income Tax Course, please call 1-800-HR-BLOCK (1-800-472-5625) for assistance in transferring your $25.00 minimum deposit.

Note: Certain states have specific rules with respect to refunds related to the Income Tax Course. Please find your state below to determine the refund policy that applies to you. The state refund policy [for the state in which the class is being offered] or [for the class in which you reside at the time of registration] will determine which policy applies to you. If H&R Block cancels an Income Tax Course for cause, the $25.00 minimum deposit will be refunded along with any course fees paid for the Income Tax Course within 30 calendar days.

Arizona - Student/Buyer’s Right to Cancel and Refund Policy

  1. If the course is discontinued by H&R Block, or if your enrollment is not accepted by H&R Block, H&R Block will refund all money paid by you.
  2. If you decide not to take the course or to drop out at any time, you must provide notification to H&R Block to be entitled to a refund. Notification must be provided in one of three ways:
    1. Go to your online Compass account, click the course, and select Drop.*
    2. Call 1-800-HRBLOCK and we can drop the course for you.*
    3. Send written notice of cancellation to the training location listed on the enrollment contract.

* Some states require that students be permitted to cancel enrollment by written notice of cancellation; however, H&R Block will also permit you to drop a course by either of the first two methods described above in lieu of written notice.

If you provide the notice as described above within 7 business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday, and legal holidays) of signing this enrollment you will be refunded all monies paid, including the $25minimum payment. Minnesota - Buyer’s Right to Cancel & Refund Policy

  1. This refund policy is not linked to any student conduct policy and any promissory instrument shall not be negotiated prior to the completion of 50% of the course.
  2. Students will be notified of acceptance or rejection in writing.
  3. If the course is discontinued by H&R Block, or if your enrollment is not accepted by H&R Block, H&R Block will refund all money paid by you.
  4. If you decide not to take the course or to drop out at any time, you must provide notification to H&R Block to be entitled to a refund. Notification must be provided in one of three ways:
    1. Go to your online Compass account, click the course, and select Drop.*
    2. Call 1-800-HRBLOCK and we can drop the course for you.*
    3. Send written notice of cancellation to the training location listed on the enrollment contract.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, if a student gives written notice of cancellation within 5 business days of the execution of the contract or day on which the student is accepted, then a complete refund is given regardless of whether the program has started.

If you provide notice as described above after 5 business days, you will receive a refund in accordance with the following schedule:

Any notice of cancellation shall be acknowledged in writing within 10 business days of receipt of such notice and all refunds shall be forwarded to the student within 30 business days of receipt of such notice to the address provided at the time of your enrollment.

Written notice of cancellation shall take place on the date the letter of cancellation is postmarked or, in the case where the notice is hand carried, it shall occur on the date the notice is delivered to the school. The date of execution of the enrollment agreement shall be presumed to be the date of delivery of the notice of acceptance; and if delivered by mail, the postmark date of the letter of acceptance.

Nebraska - Refund Policy

REFUND POLICY FOR STUDENTS IN TEXAS CALLED TO ACTIVE MILITARY SERVICE:

A student who enrolls for the course and who withdraws from the course as a result of being called to active duty in a military service of the United States or the Texas National Guard may elect one of the following options:

  1. If the registration and course fees have been paid in advance of the withdrawal, a pro rata refund of any fees paid by the student of the course and a cancellation of any unpaid course fee owed by the student of the portion of the course the student does not complete following withdrawal;
  2. A grade of incomplete with the designation “withdrawn-military” for the course, and the right to re-enroll in the course, not later than the first anniversary of the date the student is discharged from active military duty without payment of additional fees for the course other than any previously unpaid balance of the original registration and course fee; or
  3. The assignment of an appropriate final grade for the course, but only if the instructor of the course determines that the student has
    1. Satisfactorily completed at least 90 percent of the required coursework for the course; and
    2. Demonstrated sufficient mastery of the program material to receive credit for completing the course.

Washington - Refund Policy
